Based on the CNN Projections in the March 4, 2008 Democratic Primary it looks as though Hillary Clinton will be winning the state of Ohio by a pretty sizable margin. Let me for the first time in the history of this blog congratulate not Hillary Clinton, but the state of Ohio for a repeat performance of their epic failure that lead to the 2004 victory of the Bush Administration.
Back in 2004 Ohio had the opportunity to send the Bush Administration packing all the way back to Crawford, Texas, but instead they decided to re-elect Bush and his cronies for four more years of highly secretive leadership. And what did America get? Hurricane Katrina, Recession, US Attorney firings, record profits for Halliburton and Blackwater, the war on science, the war on atheism, the war on homosexuals, the war on our civil rights, the war on privacy, the drum beating to war with Iran, and a “100 year” war with Iraq. In conjunction with some of my earlier posts regarding the FISA Bill and warrantless wiretapping with aid from the telecommunications companies, I found this nicely modified AT&T billboard. It single handedly sums up what is going on for those of you ignorant enough to not read the national news.

Among the many steps leading a true Democracy to a complete fascist society is the alliance between large corporate entities and the government as well as the governments’ ability to spy on it’s own people “legally” ILLEGALLY.
Whatever happened to we The People? Today, the FISA bill passed in the Senate by a vote of 67-31 thus nullifying further fillibuster attempts by Senator Dodd. The bill had a proposed amendment by Senator Dodd and Russel Feingold that didn’t include retroactive immunity for the telecommunication giants, but it was categorically voted against by most Republicans including John McCain. The real question is now, to you the every man is what does this mean to me? What’s FISA? What’s retroactive immunity? Why would Bush veto any bill without retroactive immunity in it?
You may have heard George Bush’s rhetoric in his final state of the union where he declared that he would not able to effectively do his job to protect us from the terrorists if we didn’t rapidly renew his surveillance authority. What you may not know is that the bill he was referring to has been proposed several times in the Senate… Why would he need retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies that illegally handed over your telephone recordings and information to the FBI and other Government agencies if he just wanted to protect us from a few loony jihadists?
The answer: 40 or so lawsuits pending against AT&T and Sprint Nextel for breaking the law by not requiring warrants would cost them a fortune. Does this not sound to you as though the Government has yet again chosen to aid the big corporation instead of letting it’s constitutional equal, the court system, decide if information was handed over illegally? Generally speaking, I give opinions and news on movies, technology, and funny things that deserve my sarcastic commentary, but this time I’m getting down with my “Dear Abbey” side and dishing out some advice for you 18-30 year old people looking to settle down and get hitched! To prevent an ensuing flame-war and hate mail, I am being sensitive and mostly serious, but I’m sure even you most serious people out there can at the very least smile and relate to one of the things I touch upon… (more…)

I’ve been using Wordpress for years now and I’ll be the first to admit it’s by no means perfect, but when it comes to the blogging platforms–it’s second to none. Specifically, I’m going to outline a few reasons why it’s better than it’s newly open sourced corporate competitor, Movable Type. Now that’s not to say that Movable Type doesn’t have it’s place and totally suckz deez nutz, but unless you’re a corporate lacky and have no idea what you’re doing… then yea, Wordpress is going to be your propaganda pushing machine. You can tack this reason on to the already long list of reasons for why you should read this blog on a daily basis: we’re ****ing green and eco-friendly on top of this already being a low-fat design that’s easy to read and fun for the kids! It seems that being green/eco-friendly is now the new cool hip marketing buzz word that everyone wants to slap onto just about everything no matter what it is. This further confirms one of my first and foremost important themes in marketing, and that is that marketers are liars, and propogandists, and they’ll do anything it takes to sell! With that being said, I hath decided to make every blog post from here on out an energy-saving efficient green blog post. (more…)

I remember reading through hundreds of different job requirements and job postings all over the net back a year ago this time when I was still trying to find a job. Some were very vague, some were quite short, and some were very specific and detailed. By detailed of course I mean, intimidating. By that I mean, totally ****ing impossible to qualify.
With that, I have decided to post my own personal job posting for Timmers Tidbits incorporated (formerly known as timmyblog.com) for my very first historical hire (unless you count that time in 2005 when Brandon posted to my blog, which hath since been deleted) If you meet the following requirements, please inquire within. A friend sent me this link for a site where you can date chicks who are doing time. He sent it at the end of a very lackluster word day, and I was going to post my first job posting here on the main page, but decided this would take precedence for the days daily mcblogster. Besides, some of these ladies aren’t that bad. A snippet from the FAQ:
Is this legal?
You bet it is!
Where do I sign up? Damn! The register link takes takes you to Medical Adoptions… I was going to use the screen name timmerstidbits with my patented avatar if they let me

With the most recent update of the iPhone to version 1.1.3 came the ability to customize your icons for your home screen. You are now able to add bookmarks or weblinks to the homescreen as well as add multiple pages of content. The only thing that sucked about adding your favorite sites to your home screen (namely my blog, Bank of America, and Assault T-Shirts) was that the icon was a crappy looking screenshot of the current screen. Thanks to some reading on the iPhone dev site and on a few others sites, I figured out how to get the smoothest custom rounded glowing icon in just a few easy steps…
